Barrie Anxiety Clinic is a family mental health center, offering psychoeducation, treatment, and counseling for all types of anxiety and concurrent conditions affecting children, youth and adults.
We use only evidence-based therapeutic methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT).
We are trauma, adversity, culturally, and LGBTQ+ informed.
Our counseling approach extends beyond psychological issues, taking into account clients` personal, cultural, social, environmental, and biological factors.
We work with parents, caregivers, schools, and communities to help our clients achieve their goals and enhance their quality of life.
At Barrie Anxiety Clinic, we take a transformative and proactive approach to personal and community mental health and biopsychosocial wellness. We don’t just throw a lifeline - we teach you how to swim.
We design and facilitate Cognitive Behavioural Skill-building (CBS)TM programs for children, youth, and adults, with a focus on preventing the development of anxiety disorders, unhelpful coping behaviours, symptoms of ADHD, and other biopsychosocial challenges before they escalate.
Our mission is not only to empower, but to equip individuals with practical, evidence-based cognitive and behavioural tools. Through CBS, participants develop the skills needed to face life’s challenges with confidence, emotional regulation, and resilience.
Rather than relying solely on professionals, friends, or external supports - which may be unavailable, ineffective, or even harmful at times - individuals gain the ability to manage difficulties independently and sustainably. By building internal capacity for mental wellness, we foster stronger individuals, families, and communities.
